Michelle Stoddart finds her calling in coaching

Vision Coaching is delighted to welcome Michelle Stoddart to its roster of coaches, bringing a lifelong fascination with people, a background in psychology and a passion for helping others discover what's possible.

For Michelle, the journey to coaching wasn't entirely straightforward.

With a psychology degree from the University of New Brunswick, she once imagined becoming a therapist. But after pursuing other interests and careers, including graphic design, photography and marketing, she realized she was increasingly drawn to helping people focus on their present and future rather than their past.

Executive coaching offered that opportunity.

Still, when Michelle enrolled in the executive coaching program at Royal Roads University, she wasn't certain she wanted to become a coach.

That changed when she began working with clients.

She was struck by the trust and vulnerability that developed in coaching relationships – and by the changes people began making in their lives.

"These people are changing their lives in the direction they wanted to," she recalls. "And I get to be, even if it's a very small piece, part of that connection."

Many of Michelle's early clients were women navigating careers, motherhood and evolving personal identities. She saw how exploring deeply held values helped them better understand their choices, rediscover neglected interests and find greater confidence in their professional and personal lives.

For Michelle, coaching is about "meeting humans where they are" – recognizing that leadership challenges rarely exist in isolation from the rest of life.

Now a Certified Executive Coach, Michelle also serves as Vision's marketing director. She brings a particular interest in helping people understand what matters most to them – and how that understanding can lead to greater confidence and meaningful change.

Some of the most rewarding moments have come when clients discover possibilities they hadn't previously considered, reconnect with interests they had set aside or find a clearer direction for their lives.
