The Role Nobody Understands

You're caught in the middle. Leadership expects you to solve people problems. Managers expect you to handle the messy stuff. And everyone assumes HR is just policy and paperwork.
You know the role could be more. You want to be at the table when strategy gets set, not just called in when something breaks. But it's hard to shift that perception when you're constantly pulled into reactive mode.
Meanwhile, you're watching the same leadership gaps create the same problems. Turnover. Disengagement. Managers who can't have hard conversations. You know coaching could help, but you need a way to prove it and a way to lead it.
This Program Is Built for That Shift
Using the Coach Approach for HR isn't just about learning coaching skills. It's about becoming the person who brings coaching into your organization.
You'll learn the same framework we teach operational leaders: Activate, Evoke, Generate, Declare, Launch. But the focus is different. You're not just using these skills in one-on-one meetings. You're using them to influence executives, resolve conflict, advise on succession planning, and model a different way of leading.
The goal is a shift in how you're seen as an HR professional
From: Policy, process, programs. The person who says no.
To: Coach, adviser, culture architect. The person leaders turn to.
What Makes This Different
You Have to Embody It Before You Can Sell It
You can't roll out a coaching culture if you're not coaching yourself. You experience the impact first, and when you show up differently in conversations with executives, they notice.
Built for HR-Specific Challenges
The scenarios you'll practise aren't generic. They're the ones you actually face: navigating a difficult conversation with a senior leader, advising on a performance issue without owning the outcome, helping a manager see their own blind spots.
Designed to Build Your Credibility
We've worked with HR leaders who used this program to change how they were perceived in their organizations. Their inboxes filled up with feedback from skeptical directors calling it the best training they'd ever seen.
We Know What's at Stake for You
When you bring in a vendor, your reputation is on the line. If it flops, you own it. If the facilitator can't handle a room full of skeptical engineers or senior executives, you're the one who looks bad.
We've delivered this program in conservative, traditional organizations where HR is often dismissed. We know how to earn credibility with tough audiences because we've done it alongside HR leaders like you.
All of our facilitators are internationally accredited executive coaches with real leadership experience. They won't embarrass you. They'll make you look good.
How We Work Together
Step 1: Discovery Call. We start with a conversation to understand your organization, your culture, and what you're trying to shift. No pitch. Just a real discussion about whether this is the right fit.
Step 2: Customized Program. We design a program around your context and goals. This includes training delivered over time, plus live practise sessions where you work through real HR scenarios and get feedback from certified coaches.
Step 3: Measure Results. We track progress so you have data to show leadership. Participants rate their coaching confidence before and after. We consistently see a four-point increase on a 10-point scale. You'll have proof that something changed.
We've Been in Your Shoes
Vision Coaching has been helping organizations develop leaders for more than 20 years. But we didn't start as trainers looking in from the outside.
Our team includes former HR executives who fought for a seat at the table. We've been the ones pitching leadership development to skeptical CFOs, defending budgets when times got tight, and taking the blame when a vendor didn't deliver.
We built this program because we lived the tension you're living. Between being seen as support and being seen as strategic. Between knowing what the organization needs and struggling to get people to listen.
Our facilitators are certified by the International Coaching Federation. They all have deep leadership experience. Some came from corporate HR. Others from operations, finance, and entrepreneurship. All of them have sat across the table from executives who didn't believe in "soft skills" and won them over.
We've delivered this program at Irving Shipbuilding, Atlantic Lottery, WorkSafeNB, and organizations across North America where HR has historically been dismissed. We know how to earn credibility with tough audiences because we've done it hundreds of times.
When you bring us in, you're not gambling your reputation. You’re making a considered choice with people who understand what’s on the line.

You Probably Have Questions
How is this different from the standard Using the Coach Approach program? The core framework is the same. But the HR version focuses on your specific challenges: influencing without authority, advising senior leaders, building a coaching culture across the organization. You're not just learning to coach your team. You're learning to shift how the whole organization develops people.
Who is this program for? HR Business Partners, Talent Directors, People & Culture leaders, and anyone in HR who wants to move from administrative support to strategic partner.
What if our executives are skeptical about coaching? That's exactly why you need this. The program teaches you how to have those conversations, how to demonstrate value, and how to earn credibility with skeptical leaders. You become the proof that coaching works.
How long does the program take? The program is delivered over several weeks, not a single day. This spaced approach helps the learning stick. You'll practice between sessions and come back to debrief what worked and what didn't.
Can this be delivered in person or virtually? Both options are available. We’ll talk through your goals, constraints, and team dynamics, and you decide which format makes the most sense for your organization.
What results can we expect? You’ll see a clear shift in how leaders show up and how they’re trusted. HR leaders who complete the program are invited into more strategic conversations and can show that the investment paid off. They leave with practical skills that change how decisions get made and how responsibility is shared across the team, well beyond the program itself.
Stop Being the Bottleneck. Start Being the Architect
You didn't get into HR to push paper and police policy. You got into it because you believe culture – shaped by everyday leadership behaviours is the difference between organizations that struggle and organizations that thrive.
This program gives you the skills to prove it. To show up as a strategic partner. To build a culture where leaders develop other leaders.
